New Kids, Big Changes, and Bright Futures at Tanglefoot Farm

Spring has brought new life to the farm—and a few big decisions, too.
Our sweet tripod Mini-Nubian goat, Belle, delivered two gorgeous buckskin kids—a strong little buckling and a lovely doeling. We had hoped to keep the doeling, but unfortunately we missed the window for disbudding, and I don’t want to add horned goats to the herd. So, both of Belle’s babies will soon be looking for new homes where they can thrive.

Blossom, our Nigerian Dwarf, gave us a showstopper of a buckling—white with bold black markings and four perfect black socks. Naturally, we named him Qu’Sox. This little guy isn’t going anywhere. With powerhouse genetics from California’s Blackberry Farms, Sox is staying on as our future herd sire. He’ll help bring smaller stature, improved udders, and great conformation to our Mini-Nubian line. We’re excited to see what he brings to the herd next year.

At the moment, we’re up to nine goats, and that’s a bit more than this little farm needs. We’ll be rehoming Brock, last year’s buckling, and his dam, Sugar, as we work toward a leaner, stronger herd of five to six productive does. While we don’t plan to show our goats, we are committed to building a high-quality, hardy production herd—one that thrives through extended milking and pasture life.

Speaking of milk—our raw goat’s milk is now available! Our first customer described it as "fresh, buttery, and clean-tasting", and told us she could tell just by looking at our goats on green pasture that they were well-loved and well-fed.
You can pre-order online at tanglefootfarm.com/market and pick up your milk at the Norman Farm Market or right here on the farm. Thanks for following along as we grow—hooves, horns, and all.
